We conceived DonorCommunity based on a simple premise: small to mid-sized nonprofits need and deserve the same kinds of fundraising and constituent relationship management capabilities as their larger cousins. Unfortunately, we seemed to be the only ones who recognized this.
Sure, there were some incredibly powerful and full-featured applications out there. Unfortunately, this also meant they were extremely costly, complex and difficult to operate. So much so, that only the largest nonprofits had the wherewithal to deal with them.
We also found some applications that do a single thing very well, such as email marketing. So, your wind up using one application to send an email solicitation, another to register a ticket sale, a third to manage volunteers, etc. Problem is, none of these applications talk to each other. So, too often, you end up contacting one of your community members multiple times without even realizing it. That’s why an integrated solution is so important. One that lets you track ALL of your stakeholder contacts in one centralized place..
So, we resolved to create a comprehensive platform of fully-integrated applications. And we decided to populate them with only the most important features. The ones that mid-tier nonprofits really need, the ones they’ll use every day. This allowed us to clear away the clutter. Our applications are so easy to use, anyone can become productive after a 30-minute training session.
Don’t be fooled, though. There’s some heavy duty technology under the hood that makes all of this possible. The DonorCommunity platform is built using industrial-strength Web portal technology that restricts each user to the applications and data they’re supposed to see and nothing else.
DonorCommunity can also support tens of thousands of simultaneous users with high performance. In technology parlance, this is referred to as "scalability." We have it in spades.
And, since our platform is based on open standards, we can interoperate with other open applications to bring you important new features and capabilities. So, DonorCommunity will evolve and change with the times. Just like you do.
